Natural Insect Repellent Spray

We make this natural insect-repellent spray by distilling dog-fennel that grows naturally in our backyard. Dog fennel (Eupatorium capillifolium) is a perennial weed that is native to North America. It is a member of the daisy family and is found in the eastern and central United States, as well as Cuba and the Bahamas. 

Dog fennel is known as a natural insecticide and antifungal agent. The plant's alkaloids can repel fleas and ticks. It is also known to repel mosquitoes and treat insect bites. We top our formula off with essential oils known to discourage pests plus a little jojoba oil to benefit the skin. Shake well before using.

The essential oils in this recipe repels flies, gnats, chiggers, mosquitoes, fleas, moths, lice, no-see-ums, roaches, ants, spiders, and ticks.

Avoid contact with eyes.

Ingredients: 

Dog-fennel extract, distilled water, citronella, lemongrass, thyme, cedarwood, geranium, tea tree, eucalyptus, and peppermint essential oils, sesame seed oil, jojoba oil.
